CLP Service
Are you aware that the classification and labelling inventory under CLP has been published in February 2012? Did you meet the requirements referring to classification and labelling? Have you talked with the other SIEF members before submitting your classification and labelling?
According to REACH (article29(2)) and CLP (article 41), "each SIEF should agree on classification and labelling where there is a difference in the classification and labelling of the substance between potential registrants"…and again…. "the notifiers and registrants shall make every effort to come to an agreed entry to be included in the inventory".
This means that in order to comply, you should have had discussions with the other SIEF members in order to reach an agreement. However ECHA announced that it received over 3.2 million notifications for 108,941 substances: therefore it might be that your SIEF is not aligned.
ReachCentrum can help you in the discussion with other companies
that need to agree on classifications, starting with the
analysis of the inventory for non-compliant cases.
What does the CLP Service offer?
Our qualified managers will bring the parties together to enhance the communication, to streamline the discussions and to seek a solution, using our SIEF communication platform LINKinSIEF to facilitate surveys & discussions, reporting and generic communication.
In order to help companies solve potential conflicts on classifications and labelling, ReachCentrum can support the parties by:
- Analysing the inventory for non-aligned classification and labelling
- Preparing an independent opinion on the classification based on the information available
- Organising communication in your SIEF
- Acting as a mediator if necessary

Who will benefit from the CLP Service?
SIEF members who are not compliant with the legislation; SIEF members whose substances have to be registered in 2013 and 2018 but for which the Lead Registrant has not been appointed yet; potential Lead Registrants who have not yet sought input from their SIEF on classification and labelling; SIEFs with diverging views on classification and labelling.
