The manufacturers of Methanol join efforts for their REACH compliance activities and have launched on July 9th 2008 their Methanol REACH consortium.

Consortium description
Through the Methanol consortium, the manufacturers have decided to join efforts to prepare a consistent registration dossier building on the experience gained during the OECD/HPV program.  The project management and secretariat of the consortium will be handled by ReachCentrum. The technical content preparation of the registration dossier will be managed by BASF Success Solutions experts.

Membership
Manufacturers/ importers/ only representatives as defined in the REACH Regulation of the substance on its own, in preparations or in articles and who are subject to the registration requirements pursuant to the REACH Regulation, or Affiliates thereof and who participate in the consortium.

Membership is open to any applicant fulfilling the membership criteria. The Methanol consortium is open to any European and non-European companies manufacturing methanol as well as importers of the substance. Downstream users and other data holders are also invited to play an active role in the work of the Consortium.
