Calcium Salts of Alkyl Benzene Sulfonic Acid (CaDDBS) REACH consortium
The manufacturers of Calcium Salts of (linear and branched) Alkyl benzene sulfonic acid have joined efforts in the context of their REACH compliance activities and have launched the Calcium Salts of Alkyl Benzene Sulfonic Acid (CaDDBS) REACH Consortium in August 2009.
Consortium description
Through the CaDDBS REACH consortium a group of manufacturers and importers of Calcium Salts of (linear and branched) Alkyl Benzene Sulfonic Acid have decided to join efforts to prepare dossiers, using read across opportunities among similar substances. The registration dossier of substance Benzenesulfonic acid, 4-C10-14-alkyl derivatives, calcium salts (CAS 90194-26-6 ; EINECS 290-635-1) will be prepared for a joint submission in 2010.

* based on last substance naming convention principles (source Clariant/H. Buhl) : "The substance naming of the UVCB should fit to the convention that constituents should be mentioned in the substance name if their share is =10% and if these chain lengths make up at least 80%. If C-chains range from below to above 10 % (e.g. 6-11 %), the higher value has to be considered for the naming. Constituents > 1 % have to be mentioned as Reference Substance in the constituents listing of IUCLID section 1.2 and recognized in the chromatogram of IUCLID section 1.4. "
Membership
Members of the consortium are manufacturers/ importers/ only representatives as defined in the REACH Regulation of the substance on its own or in preparations and who are subject to the registration requirements pursuant to the REACH Regulation, or Affiliates thereof and who participate in the consortium.
Membership is open to any applicant fulfilling the membership criteria. The CaDDBS REACH consortium is open to any European companies manufacturing the above mentioned substances as well as importers of the above mentioned substances. All manufacturers/importers or only representatives, having data important for the dossier compilation are invited to contact the consortium secretariat as soon as possible to discuss access to the data.
